Summary
The first week of June 2025 was the driest and warmest week since late April at Greg’s Weather Center in South Plainfield. There was only one day of measurable rainfall while there were four days of 80° weather. There were three straight days of near 90° temperatures.
So far this year, there have been a total of 13 days with high temperatures of 80° or higher. However, there has not been a 90° day yet. For three straight days last week, GWC was close with highs of 89 but still came up short.
The humidity was on the increase as well, but there were no storms or storm threats until Saturday. The lone day of rain only produced a tenth of an inch of rainfall. The peak rainfall rate was less than a quarter of an inch per hour. Pressures recovered from the depths of May 31st.
After falling to a record low pressure for the final day of May last week, the barometer went on a steady climb from early last Saturday morning into the early part of this week. The pressure rose nearly two-thirds of an inch or 22 millibars from midnight on June 1st until late in the evening on June 3rd.
Otherwise, things were mostly uneventful from a weather standpoint this week.
