Summary
The week of May 4th to May 10th, 2025 was cooler and stormier than the week before at Greg’s Weather Center. There were no 80-degree days during the period and there were five days of measurable rainfall. It was the wettest period at GWC since the second week of April. However, there was not as much rainfall as anticipated. The storms that developed under the unsettled pattern of the period underperformed.
The first wave of storminess that took place from May 4 to May 6th was forecast to produce anywhere from one to three inches around New Jersey. Unfortunately, there was only a little more than half of an inch at GWC. The second wave of storms that occurred later in the week was expected to bring another one to two inches. However, only a little less than a third of an inch of rain was produced.
High temperatures ranged from near 60 to the mid-70s. The maximum high was 76 degrees on Thursday, May 8th. The lowest temperature was on Saturday, May 10th. Severe weather developed over Sussex and Warren counties as well as Eastern Pennsylvania on May 6th with an EF1 tornado touching down in Bangor, Pennsylvania. Friday saw storm cells produce more severe weather for Northern New Jersey.
