Summary

The week of April 20th to April 26th, 2025 was a dry and warmer period.  There was no measurable rainfall on six out of the seven days.  The final day of the period, April 26th, was the only day with measurable rain, and it wasn’t much.  Over the last two weeks, there were 12 days without any rain, and only produced a total of only 0.29 of an inch of rainfall.

Meanwhile, the temperature was on the increase with three days of 80-degree weather.  Since March 31st, there have been five days with a high temperature of at least 80, and three of those days came this week.  The stormiest day of the week was April 26th with barometric pressure dropping to its lowest level of the period at 29.67 inches or 1005 millibars.  A cold front brought in showers and storms.

Some storms to the north and south of GWC were severe including a tornado warned cell near Seaside Heights and another that produced gusty winds and heavy rain in Essex, Morris, Passaic, and Sussex counties.  Another huge weather story this week was the Jones Road wildfire that scorched over 15,000 acres in Barnegat, Lacey Township, and Waretown in Southern Ocean County.
